San Quirico
Azienda San Quirico was established in 1860 by the Vecchione family, which has been passionately farming its land in San Gimignano for four generations.
The land is ideal for the cultivation of vines, thanks to excellent exposure to the sun and an altitude ranging from 200 to 300 m above sea level.
Our vineyards extend over an area of ten hectares, six of which are used for the production of Vernaccia di San Gimignano and four for Chianti Colli Senesi and San Gimignano. Our grapes are mainly native, with only a small quantity of international varieties; mainly Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah.
The Estate obtained Organic Certification in 2004, through the control body Q.Certificazioni srl. The processing methods used, in line with CE regulation 834/07, involve BIO-certified organic fertilisation and the use of copper and sulphur for phytosanitary control, without any use of synthetic chemical products. The winemaking method has also been certified organic since 2012.
